A virtual exhibition of Elturan Avalov's works dedicated to the 270th anniversary of the Shusha Fortress has organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery and the Baku Art Gallery.

The exhibition is dedicated to the victories of our Army in the liberation of our occupied territories.

The exhibition was held in order to bring to the public's attention our material and cultural heritage in our native lands occupied by Armenian enemies. 

The exposition of the exhibition consisted of graphic works by an Elturan Avalov. The graphics are depicted the houses, historical mosques and squares of Shusha, where he once walking the streets.

Elturan Ali oglu Avalov was born on August 20, 1940 in the city of Baku.  He studied architecture at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1957-1963.

As a graphic artist, his work is multifaceted.  Along with his illustrations to the works of Azerbaijani classics, his grotesque caricatures of songs such as "Reyhan", "Ay beri bax", "Gulabatin", "Goy gulum gelsin, ay nene", "Haji Murad" and "Composer Fikret Amirov" in a realistic style  , "Sevil", "Neftchilar" portraits are an example of this.  The artist's illustrations in Uzeyir Hajibeyli's operettas "Arshin mal alan" and "O olmasin bu olsun" expressed the content of the great artist’s works in fine arts. .  The artist's graphic works such as "Seyidli neighborhood" in Shusha, "Khoja Marjanli" and "Haji Yusifli" neighborhoods, the neighborhood located in "Ashagi Govhar Aga Mosque", "House of Merchant Mashadi Taghi", "Ganja Gate" attracted speciality features. Y.Salamzadeh called the graphic drawings of the architectural  and historical monuments of Shusha "Stone Poetry".

The artist was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan" in 1991 for his services in the field of architecture and fine arts.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan will publish a catalog of Elturan Avalov's graphic works.
